Cover letter

I am writing to enquire if you have
any internship opportunities for a period of six months from March.

am looking for an engineering internship in process development and more
specifically, in upstream processing and fermentation. The biotechnological
field has always attracted me and your firm, its challenges and its
innovativeness catch all my interest. I discovered your firm thanks to Mr.
Abdel Zemmar former employee of yours who was my former Unit Head during my
last intersnhip.

As you can see from my CV, I am completing
my last year at the french engineering school INSA de Toulouse (National
Institute of Applied Sciences), studying biology and bioprocesses. My studies
provide me high skills in fermentation and the passion for bioprocesses.

summer I completed a three months internship in the BioEngineering unit of a
french Biotechnology company : LFB Biomanufacturing. I worked on my
own, on a process development project and more specifically, on the
clarification step. I assessed new clarification technologies performances in
collaboration with three suppliers (MerckMillipore, SartoriusStedim, Pall) and provide
recommendations for a large scale implementation. I conducted mammalian cell
cultures into lab-scale bioreactors in order to produce raw matierial for each
trial. I thawed the clone, amplified it in shakeflasks, followed the fed-batch
culture and assessed the clarification technologies on the harvest. Meanwhile,
I aided my colleagues in assessing new micro-scale fermentation technologies.
Thanks to this internship I worked on the
main steps of bioproduction processes : upstream and downstream processes.
This experience convinced me that I have the personality and the qualities
necessary to work on process development. I really enjoy investigating and
being challenged that’s why I provide you my application for the post of
engineer intern in process development.

I also completed a voluntary
internship in a fundamental research team at the Molecular and Cellular
Institute of Pharmacology (IPMC) of Sophia-Antipolis. It was a rewarding
experience but the industrial sector meets more my professional expectations.
All these experiences taught me how
to deal with a team and with industrial deadlines. I am comfortable with trials
synthesis and results presentation.

I am effective in team situations,
and enjoy working with others. I am a really autonomous person and in this
regard, you may be assured of my involvement and dynamism. Very curious and quick
learner you may count on my effectiveness at work. I am determined to work for
your firm and I hope to schedule an interview to show you how motivated I am.
If you’re interested in getting some recommendations from my previous
experiences, feel free to ask so I can provide contacts. I look forward to
hearing from you.
